Hmmm all these nice pages and you end up back here...what
are the chances.
Me?, really I assure you I am quite unremarkable ...I
am 30, married, as yet childless boo hoo!, and live in England
in a large eclectic but often chaotic house. I am 5ft 2, I have
blue eyes and silver hair, and the fact I absolutely adore my
PC is self evident.
Personally I am obsessive about tidiness ...everywhere
except my office, I adore my husband, and it goes without saying
my dog. I am a voracious reader and for light relief I often play
the MMORPG Dark Age of Camelot on the U.S.A servers as well as
being an Officer in the E.U servers on Glastonbury. Hello to all
my fellow Death Jesters.
Well since I have been old enough, and allowed I might
add to wield artistic supplies, and sometimes when I haven't,
I have always had great fun drawing and painting. My earliest
masterpieces where to draw spiders in permanent marker on my Mums
hall walls, and to paint my Dad in green emulsion paint. The least
said about these escapades the better in my humble opinion.
I have always loved the fantastic and mythical, and
also ever since I was small loved painting ornate and elaborate
clothes, I always seemed to have my nose pressed into one of those
costumes through the ages books, and would painstakingly copy
the pictures from them. For a while I thought I'd end up working
in the fashion or theatrical industry...it's still one of the
most enjoyable parts of my painting to date.
Funnily enough despite my love of drawing and painting,
I am not formally art trained, nor am I professionally qualified
in any way...my ability comes from a deep love and passion, and
lots of experimentation, practice and countless experiences. While
I was in High School Fantasy Art was not encouraged, and try as
I might, I couldn't muster any enthusiasm for painting crushed
drink cans and pieces of chocolate with a bite taken from it.
Although I still enjoy drawing pen and ink sketches
of Dragons, and still like water co lour and acrylic painting...some
of which will later be shown here, now my biggest love if the
digital medium. I have only been digitally painting since September
2004 so I am still very very new at it. Thankfully I gain confidence
every day and due to some hare brained experimentation seem to
be progressing and developing. Hopefully in a couple of years
time I won't look back on these earlier pages and want to cringe.
I love the artwork of Julie Bell and Boris Vallejo,
Toxic Angel, Ravnheart and Sinsister are some other favorites.
These days I seem to be taking more of an interest in the art
styles of Nene Thomas, and Erika Bauque.
These two artists have very vivid
and colorful work, their elaborate and flamboyant nature is very
appealing to me, and it's this vividness and detail I want to
project into my images.
Also recently I have become inspired by the artwork
of Luis Royo, someone who is as muted and subtle as the two afore
mentioned artists are vivid a colorful. I find his work seems
to inspire me out from even the most virulent artistic block.
So I'd like to extend my thanks for that.
