Frequently in any line of bushiness you get asked a
multitude of questions, and while I don't think for one second
I'll be able to field em all, I hope to at least be able to field
some.
For my own ease as well as yourself :), below you will
find a fair amount of questions and answers split into there specific
topics.
Q. What paper do you print your
page designs on
A. We print on high quality, 90 g/m neutral parchment
paper A 4 size equivalent of 8.27inch by 11.7inch, we use the
best quality inks and a high quality printing device.
Every print is vetted by myself, and won't be sent
out till I am completely satisfied. I will sign and number EVERY
SINGLE page that leaves my hands.
Q. Pages are kind of flimsy and
fragile how can I be sure that when I get them they won't be all
creased and torn.
A. I gave this considerable thought, I have had a few
fragile items myself that have not survived the postal system
as well as I would like, and I really want to make sure that the
pages get to my customers in the best possible condition.
For this purpose every print is send out in a completely
rigid, thick cardboard envelope that will protect your piece of
artwork. These are 80p each or $1.44 and although they may seem
slightly expensive, I've found they are the best thing for transporting
delicate artwork.
Q: Postage prices, what are they
and where do you ship...
A: I ship to the UK, Europe, and U.S.A everyone else
please contact me so we can discuss costs. Prices are dependant
on weight and can be found here. Please note I only speak and
read English, if you can't contact me in English I am not going
to be able to help you, sorry.
UK bound mail will be sent by recorded delivery mail,
this means there is a less chance of it going awry :). Recorded
Mail
For Oversee's Standard shipping is airmail,
but if you wish to incur the extra costs I will look into sending
airsure
for you.
For EVERY order I will obtain proof of postage, and
these will be kept in file with all orders in case they are needed.
Every endevour will be made to ensure that these pages arrive
as pristine and safely as possible but alas I cannot accompany
them through the postal service to your door, as much as I would
like to.
I obviously cannot be
held accountable for lost or damaged mail, once it leaves my hands
I am in effect not responsible for it.
However I do suggest
you carefully read the above links to see that EVERY effort is
made from my end to ensure it arrives in tact.
Q. What if I really really am
not satisfied with the artwork when it arrives
A. I always endevour to keep my customers happy, and
am aware through many years in customer service that it is often
less than stellar.
Bearing in mind that not only can you see all the artwork
before hand, but we also have scanned images of the actual printed
pages here so you can SEE exactly what you are bidding on.
If you send me the pages back I will refund the cost
of the pages in full, sans postage both ways. After all if you
really find them that objectionable in person I don't want to
force you to keep them.
Q. Who paints the images, are
they free domain, do you know the artist?, when I buy a page can
I re-sell or circulate scans of it amongst my friends.
A. I paint the images, they are the work of me, myself
and I and although I sometimes refer to myself in the third person
or as if there is many of us, it's due to my own eccentricities.
All pages are my original and unique work.
No they aren't free domain I own all legal copyright,
each page is sent out signed and numbered and also recorded in
a book so I know how many have left me.
I DO NOT allow re-sale
rights in any capacity, they are only for the buyers PERSONAL
use and may not be reproduced either electronically or any other
way and circulated for any means for free or commercially.
Anyone who does so is breaking the law and I will do
everything in my power to pursue and prosecute offenders to the
fullest extent of the law.
Due also to my eccentric and unique way of painting
all works are kept in there separate layer formats. sometimes
with as many as 200 layers so it is very VERY easy to prove myself
as the original artist.
Q. How are the images painted,
as all pages are a copy of the original how does the print compare
to the original painting.
A. The images are painted digitally with a graphics
tablet and Adobe Photo Shop CS. When finished a copy is saved
to disc as a PSP document and in order to print is saved as the
maximum level of JPG.
This is then printed off using the paper afore mentioned
with a high quality printer, afterwards it's vetted for any printing
errors or marks and will always look as fresh as the original
file. This is the nature of digitally painted images.
Q. Do you offer unique one of
a kind pages, or are you available for commissions for pages just
for me
A. No I'm afraid I aren't open for commissions, all
pieces of artwork I do will be available to all my customers.
I do have plans for limited edition runs for customers
later, but I want to get a bit of a bigger collection of pages
here before I cast my stylus in that direction.
Q. Is there any customization
of existing pages possible.
A. Yes, all files are saved titled and ALSO untitled
so for a modest extra fee of £5.00 I will title any page
offered what ever you want *space* pending :).
Please e-mail me at the end of the auction to discuss
this.
N.B If there is anything you would want to especially
see on a Book Of Shadows page, I am not averse to you sending
me an email with your idea's, who knows?
Maybe it will be the next page I offer.
Q. So you're a witch, do you
answer witchy type queries?
A. Yes I am, but I am an extremely unorthodox one :),
trust me my path works for me but in all probability wouldn't
work for anyone else. I also view it as a personal and private
thing so sorry I'm not really going to be much help to you.
Q. Fairies/Unicorns/Gargoyles/Dragons/Witches/Elves/Vampires
don't look like that, and you are causing irredeemable harm to
[insert above or/other creature] community.
A. You probably think that I am having a giggle here,
and honestly when I was told to add such a disclaimer I thought
it was a giggle too. Sadly it's not.
Answer is, YES they do, in my world anyway, and seeing
as I am ruler, grand supreme poombah and dictator of the three
ring circus of my mind, I can people it with what ever creations
I decide. If you wish to people your world differently please
be my guest and pick up your own paintbrush.
Q. Are you ever going to offer
spell pages to go with your art
A. No, not unless I personally write them from scratch,
and as I royally suck at poetry, I think not.
If I have a bug bear at all it's copyright theft, it's
too easy in this day and age to rip off some poor buggers words
or artwork, and I won't be a party to it.
